

The angels came and took Andrew known to some as “Andy” when he passed away peacefully November 6, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 84. Andrew was born on August 3, 1929 to the parents of Andrew and Evelyn Smith in Dos Palos, CA. After graduating from Lincoln High School, Andrew served in the Navy aboard the submarine USS Capsezon during the Korean War. He received a Good Conduct First Metal Award due to his quick thinking which saved the lives of all aboard the ship. Andrew returned to Sacramento and married the love of his life, Shirley. They have celebrated 59 years of marriage. Andrew was a charter member of the Foothill Highlands Rotary Club with perfect attendance for over 50 years. He also served as a past president. In addition, he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce which he received a Citizen of the Year Award. Andrew and Shirley opened their business, C & S Television, in 1954 which he was still working at until just a few months ago. Many family members have worked there over the past 59 years. Andrew enjoyed spending time with family and friend, working, meeting people, gold mining, painting and gardening. Andrew is survived by his wife Shirley, son Darrel (Shauna); 3 daughters Cherie, Tami (Raymond) and Wendy; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister Leona and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. His family will deeply miss him and his never ending stories of his life experiences.
