Born in Wellington, UT on 29 Feb 1924 of pioneer stock, he passed on 18 Nov 2020. At the age of 96 years old, while hospitalized in Stockton, CA
As a boy he spent a number of years in both Wellington and Provo, UT. He was particularly proud of his Utah heritage and spoke often of having attended the Maser School as boy.
During the depression Ardee moved to Reno NV with his mother and siblings. He was trained in the sheet metal trade and was working at Taft Air Base when WWII broke out. Ardee entered the Army Air Corps at Fresno CA and he served at various installations in the United States, his assignment was that of a trainer. He would regularly comment he was assigned to help in the training of the Tuskegee airmen. Ardee was present on Ie Shima Island at the end of WWII and witnessed the Japanese delegation when they flew in, changed planes and returned to Tokyo for the surrender ceremony ending the war with Japan. Ardee’s career included 34 years with the Federal government.
After the war he met and married Ruth Hays and they were together until her death in 1997. Ardee was a prolific photographer and with Ruth travelled California and many of the western states.
Ardee was very active in and served many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He could always be depended to provide a helping hand when called upon. Even into his later years.
Adree is survived by his brother Vern Mayberry, son William Pierce, grandnephews and nieces and may numerous great grand progeny.
