Barbara L. Mills passed away after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson ’s Disease on January 18, 2012 in Carmichael, California. She was born September 14, 1925 in Bakersfield, California to Leland and Jennie Deppen. She was also raised by her beloved step-father Melvin K. Grinstead.
Barbara graduated from Modesto High School and attended Modesto Junior College. She was a loving wife and mother, and was a fabulous homemaker. She also worked as a travel agent. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband Richard Mills; her daughter Judith (Roger) her son John; her granddaughter Amber (Aaron) Morgan and great grandson Axel James Morgan; her sister Maxine (John); her step-children Mark (Leslie) Mills, Jennifer (Jim) Sinclair; step-grandchildren Lawren, Jim, and Parker (Elizabeth); her nieces and nephews Jim, Jay (Deanna), Jerry (Peggy), and Jill (Harry).
Private services will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in the Modesto Area.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
