Baron Drake Smith was born on February 2, 1995, and passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2021. Baron was a kind and gentle soul who was the light in everyone’s life, and he will forever be missed. He excelled at everything he did. Once he put his mind to something he would give it his all and do everything to be the best at it. Baron’s passion was working out; he was in the gym every day lifting weights trying to better himself to become stronger. He joined the Army in 2014 where he served in combat in Afghanistan in 2017 earning many awards and medals. When he finished his Army contract in 2018, he decided to go back to college to pursue a degree in physical therapy and he excelled academically maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Baron loved trying new foods and restaurants, going to the movies, riding his one wheel, and going to the gun range. Baron made friends easily and was genuinely liked by everyone. His smile and warm personality lit up any room and his infectious sense of humor made us all laugh. Baron loved us all and he said it to us often. He was one heck of a guy with so much life left to live. The world will not be the same without him. Baron is preceded in death by his grandfather Donald Smith. Baron is survived by his mother Krista Akana-Smith, father Robert Smith, sister Alli Smith, grandmothers Janet Akana and Loretta Smith, grandfather Henry K. Akana, Jr. (Carol), girlfriend Stephanie Asp, and many aunts, uncles and cousins all of whom loved Baron beyond belief. Baron, we will forever miss you and hold you near and dear to our hearts. Thank you for the wonderful times we got to share with you.
