

Bernard “Tommy” Thompson, a long time resident of Sacramento, passed away on May 5, 2013 at the age of 83. Born in Americas, Missouri to Shelby and Mary Thompson, he was the youngest of 7 children. At the age of 13 he became a Born Again Christian while he was attending a Brush Harbor Revival. During his life he was an iron worker who worked in the construction field for over 35 years; and he was dedicated to his family and raising his own 5 children with great Christian Moral values. He enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible and had a love for gardening. He is predeceased by his parents, 5 of his siblings, and his daughter, Kathleen. He is survived by his sister, Opel; step-sons Vernon and Donald; and sons Gerald and Daniel, including 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4-8pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks, CA with a funeral service to follow on Friday, May 10 at 11am.
