

Bert was married to his High School sweetheart Bonnie Dein and they were happily married for 72 years. They worked together throughout their lives to provide a strong and loving family.
His children, Bob Bonanno (wife Charleen), Ron Bonanno (wife Nancy), and Sandy Scott (husband, Jim) lost their loving father.
His six grandchildren, Todd Bonanno (wife Mackenzie), Camron Bonanno-Blehm, Tracy Jones (husband Rickey), Travis Bonanno, Shaun Scott (wife Amanda) and Anthony Bonanno all lost their loving and caring Grandfather.
Bert and Bonnie were blessed with seven Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Andrew Jones, Nicholas Jones, Sullivan Bonanno, Sterling Scott, Davis Scott and Lawson Scott who they all will miss their Great Grandfather dearly.
Bert was born on May 13, 1928 in Pittsburg, CA, the son of Anthony and Rose Bonanno. His sisters, Marietta DiMaggio (husband Vincent) and Nannette Hendrixson lost an amazing brother.
Bert graduated from Pittsburg High School, class of 1946/47. Following graduation, he attended a Junior college in San Francisco. Bert later joined the US National Guard where he served 8 years. Bert had a long and successful life with having the courage to follow his dreams. From owning a meat market to building and running two Drive-in restaurants in Pittsburg and Antioch, CA. Later to building a 9-hole Pitch n' Putt golf course under lights in Sacramento, CA where he was a golf professional giving lessons even though he had and 18 handicap. Followed by selling cars then turned to the business of real estate mortgage Company called Statewide City Mortgage. After 20 years sold it to retire on 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach, CA. Bert and Bonnie had an amazing life entertaining family and friends and from time to time even celebrities. They later had a Winter home in Indian Wells, CA to enjoy the sun and play a lot of golf. Bert was a great teacher in finances as well as in golf. He enjoyed telling humorous stories of his past experiences to where he wrote a book titled "It Takes Courage". His great past-time was the game of golf. He's been a member at North Ridge Country Club for fifty plus years. He played in many celebrity golf tournaments including the Bob Hope Classic, Frank Sinatra Charity Tournament and the Senior Pro Am in Maui, Hawaii.
Bert was an amazing role model to us all. His favorite saying was: "What's today is not tomorrow". He will be missed.
A service of remembrance will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, November 17 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary. 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. Reception being held immediately following will be held at North Ridge CC 7600 Madison Avenue, Fair Oaks, CA.
