Cecil was born in Portola, CA and raised as a child in Placervile and then moved to Sacramento where he never left. At 16 he started his parts department career with Suburban Ford when it was located on Folsom Blvd.
He proudly served in the military during the Vietnam war as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. After which he returned to Suburban Ford and then continued on to Folsom Lake Ford, retiring last year at Dowtnown Ford. His customers followed him throughout his career, as he was the "GO TO" guy when it came to accessories and he always had an eye for detail.
Cecil was the happiest when fishing anywhere, but most of all at Caples Lake or the beaches of Bodega Bay, repeat vacation spots that we shared as a family every year.
He loved watchng Nascar racing and anything on World History. Later in life he enjoyed the pursuit of the best Pinot Noir or Barbera wines. He also loved working with wood and remodeling the home he so loved.
Cecil is survived and will forever be missed by his wife of 32 years, Susan, his sons KC Shackelford and Mike Miller and granddaughters Kristen, Nicky and Allison. His In-Laws Nancy and Wes Jenkins, Gayle Mathis, Michael and Susan Mathis and Mother-In-Law Terese Mathis, which he always referred to as Mom. Many nieces and nephews that he always enjoyed visiting with, and best friends, Mike and Brenda Glimstad.
We are grateful that our Lord has given him back his breath and know that his best fishing will be among blue skies and white clouds. Until we meet again my love, you will always be remembered when we raise our glasses with each and every toast!!
