

He leaves his surviving wife, Nochae Park, and his two sons, David Park, married to William Johnson of San Francisco, CA and Christian Park, married to Hee Park of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by one sister, Choonkyung Lee, married to Siduk Lee in North Carolina. His remaining cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family are spread throughout the United States and Korea.
At the age of 7, Choonwon and family escaped Pyongyang before the war for a better life in South Korea. He eventually moved to the United States in 1967 and met and married Nochae in 1969. He moved with his family to Fair Oaks, CA in 1990 and retired a few years later. He loved the outdoors and spending quality time with his close friends here and in Korea. He was a vibrant member of Capital Korean Presbyterian Church and will be missed by many people there.
For those that even casually knew him knows what a warm and funny person he was. He was a great soul and will be dearly missed by all that had the honor of meeting him in person.
For those of you wishing to honor Choonwon, a funeral service will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, CA 95628 on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 3 p.m.
