OBITUARY

Clara Elizabeth Adair

January 19, 1918December 13, 2011

Clara Adair It is with great sadness we write that our loving Mother, Clara Adair, passed away peacefully at 7pm on December 13, 2011, at home with her family beside her. She was 93 years young. Born in Redondo Beach, CA, she married her love and best friend, Henry, in 1944, who preceded her in death in 2008; they were married 63 years. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Hans and Dorthea, and her sisters Marie and Emma. She was a loving wife and Mother and leaves behind three children to mourn her loss: Janet Adair-Brownlee, Nancy Vlcek (and her husband Bill), and John Adair (and his wife Rebecca). She is lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Darin Holt, John Mertz, Mark Adair (and Kristen), Brad Adair, and Brooke Dobrowski (and her husband Jeff). She also was blessed with six great-grandchildren, Samantha Denna, Taylor Holt, Jacob Holt, Ella Mae Adair Holt, Abe Bartlett, and Kristofer Mertz, and also her great-great grandchild, Eleea Langley. Mother’s greatest joy was working in her garden, and she had an amazing abundance of flowers and plants that she tended to all the time. She loved all her nieces and nephews so much, and when they came to visit, she tended to them as she did her flowers. Mother touched so many lives while she was here on earth and was so special to all of us. Although we will miss her so much, we know that she is with Jesus and her cherished companion, Henry. Mom, you will never fade from our memory and hearts. Until we meet again, Mom, love your little family. Services will be 12pm Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California 95628.

Mom, your love, dedication to our family, and energy never ceased to amaze me. I hope to be half the woman you were. There is a huge void in our lives but we know you are, again, with our dear dad. All our love. Nancy

Life is for the living. Aunt Clara did more then most of us could ever achieve in 3 lifetimes when it comes to truly touching people. I had the the pleasure of seeing my dear aunt on several occasions in my life and was always treated like a king. She could could organize a plate of cold cuts to look like fillet mignon. My heart is heavy and sincerely goes out to her children, grandchildren and loved ones. The world lost a true pearl as did we all. Mel Jr.

As a friend of your daughter, Janet, I know what it is like to lose a mother. My sincere thoughts go out to your family.
