This isn't about me, and this isn't about anyone else but you. Here's a memory from when we were younger. I could literally tell too many, but limit it to a special one: 
 So my dad and I went to Chipotle for dinner when I was in 8th grade. We had hung out with the same group since 6th grade, but we're more or less just friends, but we rarely talked. I was home schooled all of 8th grade so I never really talked to anyone from Campus Middle School. I  you, Mattie Moore, Jordan Lane, and I think maybe Gart? But we both walked up to the drink machine thing at the same time. We both said, "Sup dude." You told me you liked my shirt I had on (Which was an As I Lay Dying shirt). And you liked my checkered Pink and black belt. You asked me if I played any instruments, and I told you I played trombone ND guitar. Haha Then you gave me your home number, which I still remember. I called you, and we spent the next 4 hours talking about bands like Anti-Flag, Whatever It Takes, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, Mest, MXPX, and the local bands you knew of our friends, Crab Ragoon, and Counter Act, middle school punk and ska bands. We decided to hang out the next day. And that's when we started fireforEffect. We walked to the mall and you told me about Straight Edge, and we vowed to be Edge for life. Unfortunately I broke in 2012, but you stayed true to the X. Despite the hatred you may have taken to the grave for me, and the discord between us, you were my best friend ever and my brother. Born 11 days apart. Both adopted. Both favorite color is green. Both our dad's went to Notre Dame. There's too many good memories I'll never forget. None of the drama matters to you, because you are at peace in Heaven, and I am still wrestling with being the reason we stopped being friends. But jus like in our brother song, The Secret by Emery, "I still love you.  I swear. I. ALWAYS. WILL. 


Although Colin and I had our differences in our 10+ years of friendship, one thing never changed,  the smile on his face. No matter how hard times were or how crazy life was, he never stopped smiling and it was absolutely contagious. He was kind hearted and always put his friends and family first, even above himself in every regard. He was a huge part of the colorado community from his apparel company, to the denver music scene, and so much more. Everyone who crossed paths with him has been touched in some way by his incredible spirit and it is his legacy that will forever live on in all our hearts. 

My family and I are sending all of our love and prayers to family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Colin was the heart of "If I Fail".   This  talented group of young men  all shared the passion of making music,  they became brothers in every sense of the word.  We loved having them all stay with us when they were in town and Colin was always such a joy to be around.  My fondest memory was when the band was in town for a show and they came out to my 86 year old mother's house (Ian's Granola) to give her an acoustic concert.  She was in hospice at the time, she always supported the "boys" and she never missed a gig when they were playing here.  So when Colin sang to her, she was so happy and it ment the world to her ❤️ (attached: picture of that day) You see your son Colin gave of himself completely, he brought a smile to a dying woman.  It just shows the true heart and soul of a giving and selfless young man, one that truly made a difference in this world.

To his family and the band we are so sorry for your loss. We love you Colin 🙏❤️  God  gained a beautiful and talented soul.

What lovely beautiful pictures and thoughts of Colin the baby, the young boy and Colin the young man.  What a special considerate guy, very much loved by one and all.  As much love and prayers as I can send to my beloved cuz Joanne and all the family.  

Mike and Joanne, what a sad and terrible thing for you to bear.  It looks like Colin had found his muse and was really enjoying life.  What a creative young man he had become.  I am very sorry.

Mike and Joanne,

I am extremely saddened to hear of the loss of your son Colin.  Over the last number of days your family has been in my thoughts.  I fondly remember visiting your home a number of times when I lived in Denver and the warmth of your entire family.  I remember playing football and basketball with Colin when he was a child at your home during a summer BBQ.  Seeing some of the videos of his band show what an amazing and talented young man he became.  I remember how compassionate and loving the Mulhern family is, please accept my most heartfelt condolences at this difficult time.

Colin was the first friend my son, Kevin, made when we moved to Colorado. They were in first grade.  We have so many pictures of Colin with Kevin celebrating birthdays, Halloween’s, our family’s annual Christmas Eve breakfast, Kevin and Emilie’s wedding. This one is on their Confirmation day. 

I frequently waved to Colin as I drove home but the last time I talked with him was Easter in the green belt behind Mike and Joanne’s house. We were walking our grandchildren and everyone at the Mulherns came out to greet us. Colin gave me one of those bear hugs mentioned above. Rest In Peace, sweet one. 

Dear Mike and Joanne, We received the devastating news of your dear son, Colin. Our hearts ache for you and your beautiful family. We are looking at the photo of the ND Grotto you gave us during a time of need and are praying for Colin, you and the entire Mulhern Clan. Undoubtedly, Colin  is safe in Eternal Life with Our Heavenly Father.  We will be with you in Spirit in the coming days and at the service on Saturday. May God be with you, dear friends.
