Colleen Marie Daniels

Colleen Marie Daniels (Maxfield) of Washougal, WA passed away peacefully on 3/3/25, following a 5-year battle with vascular dementia. Colleen was born on October 10, 1947, in Sacramento, California, the third child and youngest daughter of Leslie Jay Maxfield and LaVonne Marie Burwell. She graduated from Sacramento High School in June 1965 and received her AA in Administration of Justice from Consumnes River Community College (Folsom Campus) in December 2003 – one of her proudest moments. Colleen retired from working for the state of California in 2004. During her 35 years with the CA State Department of Social Services, she started as a data entry clerk and finished as a Staff Information System Analyst. Colleen married Stephan Richard Daniels on February 23, 1969, in Sacramento, California. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year. Colleen had two travel goals which were to travel to all 50 states and to go to France. Colleen and Steve were able to accomplish both of those goals. North Dakota was the last state of the 50 states, and they went to France for their 50th anniversary and were able to see several Van Gogh paintings in Paris and did side trips to Normandy & Wales for Steve. She was preceded in death by her brother Patrick Leslie Maxfield in January 2021 and her sister Patricia LaVonne Nelson in April 2021. She is survived by her loving husband Steve, living in Washougal, WA and her two amazing children James Patrick Daniels, living in Vancouver, WA and Jennifer Lynn Daniels and Mother-in-law to Michelle Laree Gray, both living in Folsom, CA, She was also a phenomenal grandma to her 4 surviving "grands": Austin Lee Daniels, Mason Patrick Daniels, both living in Vancouver, WA, Lyra Elizabeth Gray-Daniels, and Dakota Dane Gray-Daniels, both living in Folsom, CA, and several nieces and nephews. Her service will be held at Mt. Vernon on March 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society or your local animal shelter.
