Dale was born on 4/22/1939 to Harold and Irene Sassman. Born and raised in Point Pleasant, California, Dale graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1957. Dale met his wife Donna (Glantz) Sassman in the Elk Grove High School band. Soon after, he married Donna in 1958 and had a son Dale Jr. in 1959 followed by Denise 1961. The majority of Dale’s career was spent at the Elk Grove Meat Co. followed by Ozark trucking until he retired. He enjoyed trap shooting, and body building, hunting and fishing. He was a hard-working man and wanted the best for his family. Dale involved himself in coaching his son’s little league team and supporting his children in 4-H raising sheep. He had a passion to teach his grandsons to ride motorcycles, hunt, fish and spent endless hours doing whatever his granddaughters wanted to do. To him, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to bring joy to his family.
Dale is proceeded in death by his wife Donna Sassman, parents Harold and Irene Sassman, brother Earl Sassman, sister in law Judy Sassman, niece Rhonda Sassman, great nephew Ryan Sassman, in laws Orlan and Helen Glantz and Great Nephew Kyle Glantz.
He is survived by his children Dale (Sabrina) Sassman, Denise Sassman, Grandchildren Daniel (Delise) Beavers, Dale (Keri) Sassman, David (Ashley) Beavers, Kayla (David Smith) Reeser, Caitlin Sassman. Great grandchildren Ethan & Elika Beavers, Sophia & Lane Beavers and Atticus Perez. Brother Jim (Shirley) Sassman, Sister Leanna (Lamoin) Schultz. In laws Jerry (Lillian) Glantz, Orlan (Carol) Glantz and Deanna Glantz. He is also survived by numerous loving Nieces and Nephews.
We welcome you to join his family for a visitation at Mount Vernon Memorial Park 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California on 2/15/2019 from 5-7pm and join in celebrating his life on 2/16/2019 at Point Pleasant United Methodist Church at 3329 Point Pleasant Road, Elk Grove, CA 95757 at 11:00 am in the new building. Following the service there will be a short graveside service and reception in the church hall.
