Darlene is preceded in death by her husband John T. Miller and her youngest son Stephen Renda.
Darlene was a teacher at St. Francis Elementary for 10 years where she also served as PTA president. Darlene was active in many other clubs and organizations, some of her titles and memberships included: President of Mt. Alverno Guild, President of St. Tomas Aquinas Mr. & Mrs. Club, Boy Scouts Den Mother, member of the Scotch Irish Club of America , Monitor of the Swedish Club, Member of the League of Women Voters, Toastmasters, and member of the Irish Club. Darlene was also an active member of the St. Bridget's Club and Legion of Mary at Presentation Parish where she also served as facilitator at and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
Darlene also loved the arts and was a member of the Arts and Music Club of Sacramento. She was an art and music major and this lead to producing three shows to raise money for St. Francis Elementary School bringing such acts as Paul Picerni (The Untouchables), Irene Ryan, Max Baer Jr. (Beverly Hillbillies) and many others to Sacramento. Darlene was proud of her Irish and Swedish heritage and made several trips to Europe, but always was happy to be home to vote, she never missed and was a Democrat. She was also an excellent cook and homemaker.
Darlene had an unforgettable charming smile, a gentle disposition and a kind word for all who knew her, she will be remembered for always telling people to smile.
Darlene leaves behind her beautiful family, sons Ted Renda, Tony (Paula) Renda, Sam (Patty) Renda and many many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary at 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, California from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00AM, followed by burial at Mount Vernon Memorial Park.
