

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David “Butch” DeSordi Sr. after a battle with lung cancer. David was born July 9, 1952 in Oakland CA and soon after his birth his family relocated to Sacramento, where he remained for the rest of his life. David graduated from Washington High School in Broderick CA. After graduation he entered the trucking industry where he worked the rest of his life. As a Teamster truck driver he worked for companies such as Garrett Freight, Consolidated Freight, and ABF Freight Systems. He moved into management at ABF where he was an operations manager for the Sacramento terminal. Recently, he came out of retirement and worked for Amazon SMF1 on the Tom Team, where he worked in yard operations hostling among friends.
David was an avid golfer and looked forward to his weekly golf games with friends. He was also a dedicated NASCAR fan and traveled to several races throughout the country. Recently, David was introduced to cruising where his most memorable trip was to Alaska. He enjoyed gardening and sought to have the best looking yard in the neighborhood!
David is survived by his son, David Jr and David Jr’s fiancé Summer. His sister, Darlene and her husband Chuck Wheeler. His nephew Jim and grand nieces Jordan and Kacey. His nephew Chuck and his wife Mindy. David was preceded in death by his mother Beverly DeSordi.”
