DeLyle Esther Benson

DeLyle “Dee” Benson passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024. Dee was born on January 23, 1929 in Harvey, North Dakota to Edward and Frieda Stober. Dee had a passion for life and learning and wanted to share her love for knowledge so she attended several universities in Fargo, North Dakota, Jamestown, North Dakota and Minot, North Dakota where she received her degree. She became an elementary school teacher and once her time as a teacher came to an end, she became a real estate broker. Dee spent her free time playing the piano, lap quilting and enjoying visual arts.

Dee is predeceased by her husband, David H Benson of El Dorado Hills, CA. He was the former Superintendent of Folsom Cordova Unified School District. She is also predeceased by her parents, Edward and Frieda Stober, her siblings, Orpah Dillard and Paul Stober and her son, Gregory Benson.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Mary Klahorst and her son, Bradley Benson. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Matthew Klahorst (Heidi), Joseph Klahorst (Rachel), Elizabeth Benson-Young (Jake), Benjamin Benson and Travis Cummins as well as five great grandchildren, Berkley, Bodhi, Rowan, Amelie and Stevie-Grace.

Dee will be truly missed by her family and friends. She was a special lady who’s memory will forever live in our hearts.
