Donald Thomas Hartin

Donald Thomas Hartin, 70, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 18, 2021. He was born August 4, 1950 in Sacramento, California, the son of William Fisher and Lillian Mary (Wallace) Hartin.

Don graduated from Mother Load Academy in 1968. He went on to attend Sacramento State University where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education. On June 30, 1973, Don married his sweetheart, Phyllis (Hendrich) Hartin. Don and Phyllis were happily married for 47 years. Don worked for the State of California in the Department of General Services Office of Local Assistance (OLA). Don retired from the State in 2009.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, William Wallace Hartin. Surviving in addition to his wife, Phyllis (Hendrich) Hartin, his son, Joseph William Hartin and his wife, Stacy Hartin, daughter Sarah Jane (Hartin) Patterson and her husband, Brandon Patterson, son Joshua Thomas Hartin and his wife Jennifer Hartin, and son Jeremiah Wesley Hartin and his wife Mindy Hartin, twelve grandchildren; Kimberly, Rachel, Nathanael, Jacob, Micah, Zachary, Olivia, Wyatt, Hudson, Abigail, Adalynn, and Emmitt; one brother, Robert George Hartin and his wife Sue Hartin, of Elk Gove California; many nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 28th at Sunrise Community Church, 8321 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628. Those who wish to remember Don in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Hume Lake Christian Camps ATTN: Development
