Duane Wesley Aimes, age 98, of Orangevale, CA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 1, 2022. Duane was born on February 3, 1924 in Salina, Kansas to parents Arnest F. Aimes and Mabel A. (O’Brien) Aimes.
Duane was a wonderful husband, father, “poppy”, and friend to all those who loved and knew him. A humble man of “the greatest generation”, he proudly served our country in the United States Army in WWII. After the war, he married his one ‘true love” Sue in 1946 and spent 75 years caring for her until her passing in 2021.
Duane was a hard working and dedicated employee of 40 years for Bank of America. He was an enthusiastic golfer, always trying to find friends or family to “play a round” on the weekends. He will be forever loved and forever missed. He is survived by his two sons, Kip and Kim, his grandchildren and great –grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mt.Vernon Cemetery, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. 95628.
