Eleanor was born and raised to Eva and Ben Kenfield in Ames, Iowa. She graduated college and soon afterwards married Bill Giese, her husband of 71 years. Eleanor and Bill gave birth to four children-Claudia, Bill Jr., Ben, and Mike. She devoted her entire life to taking care of her whole family, providing for all of their needs.
She loved to draw, paint, and decorate. She was able to transform any and every home they had into a beautiful, warm and welcoming environment- a work of art.
These are a few details about her life but how does one go about describing this remarkable woman? She was beautiful, intelligent, fun, full of life, nurturing, generous and above all loving.
The love that she has imparted into the hearts of her entire family is indescribable and is what has resulted in who we all are, secure, loved and empowered. Her love will remain in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her four children, 2 step children, and spouses, 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, one of which is named after her-“Nora” who is one now.
Eleanor was taken by our Lord to live with Him in Heaven eternally on May 16, 2025, 9 days before she reached the age of 100. She passed peacefully with Mike, Mary Jo, Claudia and her angelic care-giver Myrna, by her side.
There are no words to describe how much she will be missed. Our love for her runs deep. We are grateful to the Lord for blessing us with such an amazing mother, grandma, grandma Chipper and Meo. Truly, she brought glory to God by the way she lived. What a great example for us all.
Mama, our only consolation is that you are in the hands of the Lord and you are reunited with your beloved husband, mother, father and sister. We love you!!!
