In her long life she was a dutiful daughter, a devoted wife to her beloved Alfred B. Styrsky, and an energetic homemaker; but her truest calling was her steadfast nurturance of others – her family first and then innumerable sick children and anxious parents during her many years of volunteer service at Kaiser Permanente pediatrics. She is survived by her grateful children LouAnne Merriam and Alfred F., Karl, Victor, and Kate Styrsky; and by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In her later years, hers was the joyful voice that started any group songfest of hymns, 1940s ballads, and Johnny Cash hits. In her heaven there will be little “resting in peace”: there will be much to do, and she will do it gladly, singing.
