

Ethel Louise Gore Rapoza, born May 20, 1926 in Saint Pauls, North Carolina passed away peacefully on January 9, 2014 with her family at her side. Ethel was the daughter of Geneva and Carl Gore and the sibling to 11 brothers and sisters. Ethel is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Frank, sister Betty Lou Mcqueen (David Mcqueen) of St. Pauls, NC., sons Mike (Joyce Marschall) Larry (Judy Rapoza) and Frankie (deceased 1986), grandchildren Shawn (Melissa Rapoza) Nedra (Jerry Richardson), Keith, great grandchildren (Isabella, Dominic, Zaya, Ethan).
Ethel was a long time resident of Rancho Cordova, CA since 1957. She worked for over 20 years with the Folsom Cordova School District as manager of their elementary school cafeterias. While her husband and family were stationed in Japan, Ethel served as the manager of a teen club (1964-1967). Upon her return to the states, Ethel and Frank became very involved in various clubs (Sunclowners, Starlite Shufflers) dance clubs and the Traveling Elks. They made many friends and up until her passing were still going on monthly camping trips.
Ethel will always be remembered as a friend to everyone and everyone was a friend to her. It was in her nature to approach complete strangers, greet them and make compliments. No one could give a bigger hug. We were truly blessed to have such a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend in our lives.
Services will be held at January 15 at the Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA, with viewing 10-11, followed by services at 11.
