Florence Lorraine Hoskins

Florence met Earl Clifton Hoskins in the summer of 1943, and they were married Nov. 14, 1943, in Port Orchard, Wash. After Earl returned from serving in the Pacific Theater, the couple moved to West Virginia. Florence was a housewife and mother until the couple moved to Southern California in 1956. They moved to the Bay Area in 1967. She worked various jobs until her retirement in 1988.

She was an active member at Foxworthy Baptist Church in San Jose, Pollock Pines Baptist Church and Gardnerville (Nev.) Baptist Church.

Florence and Earl loved to travel. They visited Puerto Rico, Mexico, Alaska, Hawaii and took numerous trips across the continental United States in their fifth-wheel.

She is survived by her husband, Earl; her six children Nickie (Gerry), Earl Jr. (Vickie), Ann (James), Gary (Pamela), Dale, and Debbie (Victor); 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 9, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Mortuary in Fair Oaks, Calif. Internment services will be held later at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Calif.
