

Floyd Allen Stroope was the youngest of eleven beloved brothers and sisters. He was born in Waurika, Oklahoma on February 7th, 1930 to his mother Ola Fannie Hopper Stroope and father Kitt Carson Stroope. Floyd passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 2nd, 2020.
Floyd shared many stories of his early years in Oklahoma, picking cotton and working with his brothers. Through the years his family moved to California. After graduating high school, he was drafted into the Army, and at the age of 21 fought in the Korean War. In 1953 Floyd was honorably discharged from the United States Army and awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He moved to San Jose in the 1970’s where he began his 20 year career with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. In his later years, Floyd was cared for by his niece Aleah and her daughters Janelle and Raquel while residing in the Sacramento and Salinas areas. Floyd enjoyed spending time together with friends and family, going on outings and watching old westerns. He was gentle, kind and selfless. Floyd was greatly loved and cared for, and will be forever in our hearts.
Floyd Allen Stroope is currently under the care of Mount Vernon Memorial Park in Sacramento, California, and will be laid to rest with his mother at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield, California. The official service day and time will be announced once arranged.
