Floyd Dow Ziegler

Passed away peacefully on November 25, 2013 at his son John's home in Loomis, Ca.

Floyd was born in Cupertino, Ca to Emma Dow and John Ziegler where he grew up and eventually worked for the postal service and ranched. In 1940 he married Keitha Bailard and in 1941 their son John was born. They were married 44 years until her death in 1984. In 1958 he moved to Orangevale and became assistant postmaster in Fair Oaks and later postmaster of Orangevale, retiring at age 55. He was a Veteran serving in the Army during WWII in the Philippines. He proudly stated on November 11 of this year he would do it all over again if he had to. He was a member of Scottish Rite, Ben Ali Shrine, Penrhyn-Gold Hill Masonic Lodge, and Odd Fellows. Floyd is survived by his loving son John (Sharon), grandchildren Jon (Stacy), Scott (Jennifer) and Erin Moore and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his second wife Bette, stepchildren Vikki Kattman, Jakki Lineaweaver (Gaylord), Mike Galyen (Jan), Kim Garcia (Steve) and several step-greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Green and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank our caregiver Janell Howard of Davis and Bristol Hospice for their wonderful care. Floyd was a very loving and generous person, he loved his family and will be missed by all. A celebration of life will be held in late spring or early summer of 2014.
