Dr. Gerald Grant Kring passed peacefully into God’s presence on August 16, 2018 at the age of 96. Born October 20, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana, he had lived for decades in California, most recently in Lincoln. He was married for 69 years to Jean Alice Miller Kring, who died in 2013. He is survived by ten grateful children and grandchildren: Michael Kring, Sandy Kring Gavin, Tom Kring, Michelle Kring Kaiser and her husband Matthew Kaiser, and their children Brian Kaiser, Chelsey Kaiser Yang and Bryan Yang, Jordan Kaiser and McKinzie Kaiser.
A graduate of Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana, Gerry attended Northwestern Medical School and specialized in obstetrics and gynecology for the first half of his career, delivering 2,532 babies. He completed a second residency and finished as Chief of Anesthesiology at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, California.
Throughout his adult life, Gerry’s faith and the churches of which he was a part, were of vital importance to him. He served in many roles, including usher, choir member, Sunday school teacher and deacon. He was a devout Christian and looked forward to his eternal home.

A graveside service for Gerald will be held Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
