Gerald Walter Salomon

Jerry died unexpectedly Sept 8, 2019 at the age of 76. He was born in Solano County in 1943 to Albert and Laura McReynolds Salomon. As a young boy, he won his battle against polio. Jerry attended Folsom High, graduating in 1961 as a star pole vaulter. He attended American River College majoring in information technology which led to a career with the California Dept. of Motor Vehicles.

Jerry loved sports. He was on a ski team, thrilled by the speed of downhill racing. He raced his Corvette at the Vacaville Raceway and had a passion for fast cars. After he was medically retired from the DMV, he worked in Security during the 49ers spring training camps. He followed his favorite teams closely and his conversation always included sports. His favorite place to eat was Jim Boys Tacos.

Jerry is survived by his daughters Kristen Salomon of New York City and Erin Plumley of Huntington Beach, California, his older brother, Kenneth Salomon of Pleasanton, friend and caregiver, Sam Toplean of Carmichael. His beloved wolf dog, Forrest, preceded him in death.

Jerry will be inurned in a private ceremony at Mt Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary , Fair Oaks, California.
