Living in rural Wisconsin, Henry went to a country school, eventually graduating from high school in Waukesha, WI. They were very active with both their family and many dear friends at this time. Eventually Henry and Dorothy would sell their cherished home after weather turned very cold, and an unexpected surgery forced Henry to change professions.
He took a job for a chemical plant and bought a home in Citrus Heights with his wife and children following barely a month later. After around two years Henry took a job with the city of Roseville driving backhoe.
