James “Jim” Irving Farrell, 66, passed away on July 28, 2016 at his home in Rancho Cordova. After graduating from Ponderosa High school in 1968, Jim was drafted by the United States Coast Guard where he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972. Jim spent the next 40 years working as an electrician, primarily at Schetter Electric in Sacramento. Jim is survived by his two sisters: Victoria Shiba and Susan O’Farrell; four children: Tony Canavero (Loni), Tracy Bueghly (Jeff), D.J. Farrell (Melissa) and K.C. Farrell; and his six grandchildren: Brianna, Cody, and Tanner Bueghly; Elise and Ethan Farrell; Joseph Canavero. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary (8201 Greenback Ln, Fair Oaks, Ca 95628) at 10:00am with a “Celebration of Life” to follow at River City Christian (10933 Progress Ct, Rancho Cordova, Ca 95670). In honor of Jim’s favorite attire, attendees are welcome to wear Hawaiian shirts. Donations in Jim’s name can be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
