After spending less than a month at Sefora’s Home Care, Jane entered into eternal peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday May 11, 2016. She had just turned 80 years old. Prior to her passing, she lived in Placerville, California where she enjoyed viewing a wide variety of wildlife from the windows of the home she had lived in since 1987.
Jane was born in 1936, a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Cameron of Newfield, New York. She graduated from Newfield Central High School in 1954.
She was raised on Connecticut Hill, a wildlife management area in New York, where her father was the Refuge Caretaker. Jane’s family nursed many animals back to good health during her youth. A deer and fox even became family pets after her father brought them home as babies because their mothers were no longer alive. While living in New York she worked for the Tompkins County Trust Company eventually working her way up to an executive administrative position. In her last job as a pre-school teacher in Orangevale, California she loved creating craft projects for the children. She was a passionate wildlife photographer, an avid horseback rider and an enthusiastic scrapbook maker. Before her husband Bob died, they traveled on a fourteen month trip across the United States in their RV. Of course, Jane planned the route and all of the activities. Her planning skills included regularly creating meal menus three-months in advance. Jane was an excellent cook and loved to try new recipes. She enjoyed attending bible studies and for many years worked through her church ministry to bring inmates in the county jail to Christ. Jane was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, son Jim, father Robert, mother Helen, and brother Bobby.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her children Steve and Judy and step-daughters Sandra, Gerri and Gloria, grandchildren Jimmy, Scott, Tina, Jana, Gloria May, Bobby, and great-grandchildren Joshua, Jonathan, Andrew, Tamra, Wednesday, Conan, Violet, Kylahmay, William, two sisters Marilyn and Deanna, and numerous other family members.
A graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 am at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at 8201 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, Ca 95628. A celebration of life is scheduled at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Placerville, 6831 Mother Lode Drive, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Placerville, California.
