Kelly Anderson held a wonderful memorial in her home in honor of Janet and her loved ones.  Thank you Kelly for opening your heart and home.  The circle of friends and loved ones who shared in Janet's life was close knit and wonderful and celebrated at the memorial.  I know her mother, Alice, was happy to see so many who loved her daughter dearly at attendance at the Memorial.  Love and comfort ... faith ... Janet is with us in light and love.

Janet has been one of my best friends and confidants for so many years. We raised our kids together, laughed, cried, arranged events, danced and comforted each other. She has held me up through some difficult years and inspired me to take a devastating turn of events in my life to create a new, exciting, fulfilling life path. I will honor her with every flower I place, every dance I dance and every life that I touch. She touched mine so deeply and I miss her so much. I love you Janet and I will be by your daughters side always...

Janet and her family were neighbors, friends, and frequent visitors in our family home when I was growing up.  Lifelong memories were created between our families extending into two generations.  Janet and I shared many times baking together, playing Barbie dolls together, and sharing moments of laughter and friendship.  Recent years when talking we would joke around and I would ask "what would Barbie do in this situation?". Janet would reply often "she would put on great shoes and go out" and I would add "and she would be great, doing her best!". Janet would wish that for all of us today.  Put on great shoes.  Dance like nobody is watching.  Live.  Love.  Greet the day, the world, and do your best.  Oh ... and smile!  (Wink ... from Janet from heaven). Put a flower in your hair or in the garden on occasion in her memory.  She will love you from above for it!  God be with her and us all in grace and light.

Janet was such a truly amazing woman, mother, and friend to so many. Anyone that ever had the privilege of crossing paths with her in life will never forget her caring and loving good nature. From the moment I met her and learned about her career and her love of nature she showed me just how truly beautiful nature was. It's because of Janet that I became a fellow nature lover and I really started to investigate and look at every part of a flower. From the moment I met her I could never look at any plant, tree, flower or even bush without always thinking of Janet and still do even to this day. She was so graceful in everyday life and as well in ballet. Ballet was so fitting for her as a love. I remember being a very young woman when I first met her & I remember asking her to do some ballet moves for me and she did. I felt so honored to be in her presence. I will never forget how graceful and strong she was and the amazing smile she always had on her face! She will always remind me of a beautiful swan. I love you Janet and I will truly miss you so much!

This is how I will remember Janet. Kind, Caring, Happy, Giving, Helpful, Smart, Loving, Funny, Talented, Plants, Gardening, Animals, Flowers, & Beautiful. Through the years she help me many times to find plant material that I needed she was a very hard worker. She would often speak of her daughter which she was so very proud of. Janet will be deeply miss in the Landscape Industry. And I will miss her too. RIP Janet.

I miss seeing Janet. We crossed paths in ballet and in the native plant world. I would visit her at Cornflower and she would take me to feed the chickens. We shared laughs and frustrations in ballet.  She was strong, both mentally and physically, always kind and matter-of-fact. It's hard to imagine never seeing her again. I will miss her lovely presence.

Janet gently and patiently taught me how to place plant orders when I was starting out in the world of landscaping. She helped me choose just the right plant countless times. I was lucky to share many laughs and relaxed moments with her during the bustle of work days and work nights. I'll miss her warm, twinkly being.

We will miss Janet at ballet, where she brought her bright light and sense of humor.

Janet was one of the brightest people I've ever met.  Just hearing her answer the telephone always put a smile on my face.  Her enthusiasm for California  Plants was very inspirational and instrumental to my shifting my landscape contracting business to focus almost entirely on them.  Janet, you are loved and missed by all the many, many people whose lives you touched and brought your sunny disposition into.  Your selfless dedication to what you loved was a great gift you gave to us.

My memory of Janet is a sweet, quiet classmate in high school. Even though we were not in contact, I never forgot her.

I am extremely saddened to learn of Janet's passing.  She was a great friend and colleague.  I enjoyed working with her and learned a lot as a result.  I will remember her as dedicated to her job, which she loved, and always thinking of new ways to do what we did.  Most of all, I will remember her as a good, dear friend.

Janet has been my great friend since 1967. We grew up together and have always shared so much. I love you sweetie. Miss you so much.

I'm so sad Janet is gone.  I worked with her in the nursery industry.  She had a such a great, positive energy.  She totally loved her daughter and spoke of her often.  She is missed.

 I replaced Janet at Oki Nursery in production in 1987. She was to move up as Loren Oki's assistant. At that time we both share our love for perennial plants and she would go on to help produce one of the first exclusively  Perennial Catalogs for Oki I believe ever offered in the industry. I admired the way she sculpted her career becoming a force for natives plants and the back bone of Cornflower Farms. She has been one of my favorite people in the trade through the years and I along with many friends have wonderful memories of Janet to share and remember her by.

I worked with Janet on nursery industry events over many years. She was incredibly helpful, very giving of her time, always had great humor and enthusiasm. She was a treasure. I am very sorry for your loss and wish you well.

When I first learned that Janet was battling for her life I sent her a quilt I made. The main fabric is a lovely yellow and green with lemons all over it and we joked at the time that "when life gives you lemons"... I hoped it would cheer her up a bit and keep her warm. I hope that you will keep that quilt in her memory and use it to wrap yourself in all my wishes that your heart will eventually learn to live with your loss. She was a special lady and I will miss her.
