Jeanette Mary Dauterive (affectionately known as Bola) was born on June 24, 1932 to Agnes and Peter Jeanlouis Sr. She was preceded in death by Russell Dauterive, her beloved husband of fifty years, and Evella Marie Dauterive, her daughter.
She completed her formative education in the Iberia Parish School system, graduating from Jonas Henderson High School in 1951. While Russell was stationed in Rantoul, Illinois, she attended and completed nursing school. Russell’s military career provided the opportunity for Jeanette and Russell to travel to many Air Force Bases. During that time, she worked in the Army and Air Force Exchanges.
Jeanette loved taking road trips to visit her family in Louisiana. Her grandchildren Elise and Brenden brought her great joy. She adored Barack Obama and watching MSNBC and The View. On a good day, you could find her delivering political commentary to anyone that would listen.
Jeanette was one of nine children in the family of Agnes and Peter Jeanlouis Sr. and the twin sister of Juliette. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Martin, Evella, Harold, Verna, Peter Junior, Juliette, Eloise, and Alnetta.
Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory daughter Vanessa Dauterive, sons Michael Dauterive, Eric Dauterive (Monica), grandchildren Elise Dauterive and Brenden Dauterive, beloved nephew Eddie Chretien, brother-in-law Phillip Dauterive, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
