Jeanne Patricia Jones

Jeanne graduated from Glendale High School in 1964 then attended Glendale Junior College and San Jose State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts, History degree in 1973. After college, Jeanne sampled several different career paths: bookkeeper, real estate agent, and substitute teacher. She eventually found an accounting position at a local bank and she would enjoy a thirty-year career in banking, retiring from Bay Commercial Bank in Pleasanton.

Jeanne enjoyed going to air shows and aviation events, a love likely passed down from her father who was a decorated WWII pilot. She was also a San Francisco Giants fan, a wine enthusiast with club memberships for several of the local Livermore Valley wineries, and an avid watcher of the Olympics where her favorite events were gymnastics and ice skating. She spent her final days making wonderful friends in her community and caring for her German Shepherd, Hunter, who was affected with Degenerative Myelopathy. Hunter passed away shortly after his tenth birthday which was celebrated earlier this month with his close human friends and neighbors. Jeanne was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.

Jeanne is survived by her brothers, Eric and Brian Beach, her three children, John, Erin, and Lynette, as well as several grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and brother Steven Beach.

Per Jeanne’s last wishes, a Roman Catholic funeral mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton’s Catholic Church in Pleasanton and is scheduled on Thursday, August 17th at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local German Shepherd rescue organization in memory of Jeanne and Hunter. Hunter was a “foster failure” through German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California. Jeanne was a passionate supporter of German Shepherd rescue in particular and of animal rescue in general.
