JoAnn Stallings was born on August 23rd, 1928 in Clovis, New Mexico. The daughter of Porter and Mineola Hall, JoAnn was the oldest of seven children. In 1936, the Hall family made their way from New Mexico to California, finally settling in Lincoln, CA. In January of 1946, JoAnn met a young soldier that had just returned from WWII during a Sunday service at the Lincoln Assembly of God Church. Eight short months later Ralph Stallings and JoAnn were married in September of 1946.
In 1958, JoAnn and Ralph moved from Lincoln to Citrus Heights and purchased the home that they would call home for the next 56 years. JoAnn truly enjoyed decorating that home every season, keeping things fresh and beautiful every single day.
JoAnn's true personal love was painting, which she started seriously in the 80's. Whether she was painting her grand children or the many places she and Ralph traveled, painting was her true love.
During over 30 years of retirement, Ralph and JoAnn enjoyed traveling to places like Hawaii, Canada, New England, New York and Washington DC. They spent many hours on the road visiting their children and grandchildren, always active in their lives wherever they may have lived.`
JoAnn joins her loving husband Ralph in Heaven, Ralph having passed in July 2014. JoAnn is survived by their three children and their families; Marciel and Eddie Leach of Citrus Heights, CA, Marlene and Michael Ellithorp of Willows, CA, Clay and Diane Stallings of Nashville, TN, her brother Roy Hall of Chandler, AZ and her sister Shirley Dean of Grass Valley, CA. Ralph and JoAnn have 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
