Joyce Ackerman

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Ackerman on October 21, 2024, at the age of 96. Joyce was born Wilma Belle “Joyce” Humphreys on May 21, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA.

Joyce met and married Michael Allegra and had two children, Michelle and William “Bill.” They divorced and then a few years later she married Henry Ackerman and had two children, Linda and David. Along with her husband, Henry, they were devoted members of the church.

Joyce worked as a donation solicitor for charitable organizations for many years. She was also a stay-at-home mom. She loved visiting the beach, especially Balboa, CA, area and shopping in seaside towns.

Preceded in death: Mother & Father, William and Cora Humphreys; her brother, Robert Humphreys; her husbands, Michael Allegra and Henry Ackerman, and her son, William Allegro.

Survived by: daughters Michelle Allegra and Linda Schwend; and son, David Ackerman. She is survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
