

Juana Raquel Alonzo Martinez, born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, MX on June 28, 1930, to Francisco and Angela Alonzo, died on October 16, 2025, at the age of 95. She was married 67 years to Alfredo Tarango Martinez. She is survived by her; son Sergio and daughter-in-law Stephanie of Citrus Heights, CA: daughter Maria Lourdes of Sacramento, CA; son Enrique and daughter-in-law Kathryn of Chico, CA; son Alfonso and daughter-in-law Ana Rosa of Sacramento, CA; and son Francisco of Roseville, CA; six grandsons, Christopher Martinez and wife, Olga of Redmond WA; David Martinez and partner Zack Oden of Seattle, WA; Daniel Martinez of Sacramento, CA; Patrick Dobbins of Sacramento, CA; Edgar Martinez of Sacramento, CA and Erik Martinez of Sacramento, CA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Martinez of Sacramento, CA and Elena Martinez of Sacramento, CA; great-grandson, Tyler Martinez of Redmond, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo in June of 2020, son Fernando in February of 2020; and sister, Magdalena (2019).
Raquel was a resident of Sacramento since 1966, she raised six children and was a devoted Catholic. She became a Naturalized Citizen in August of 1996. Raquel loved to cook for her family, celebrate holidays, attend her son’s football games, babysit her grandchildren, go to the casinos with our dad, watch her beloved Sacramento Kings. Her friends and family will greatly miss her spirited heart, devotion to family, independent spirit, her generosity, and her willingness to live each day to its fullest.
Interment will take place at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Ln., Fair Oaks, CA 95628, November 4, 2025. Viewing is from Noon to 1:00 pm, service at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service … reception will follow burial in the outdoor tent next to the chapel.
