Julian J Salazar Jr.

Julian J. Salazar Jr., passed away peacefully on October 24, 2023 in Napa, CA. Julian was born on August 22, 1928, to Julian and Sofia Salazar, in Orange County, CA. Julian Jr. was raised in Santa Clara, CA where he attended high school. . He graduated high school and shortly after, met his first wife Virginia and they married soon after, in 1950. Julian enlisted in the Army and served in Occupied Europe post World War ll, Germany. He was awarded a World War II Victory Medal and an Army of Occupation Medal, and received his honorable discharge in 1952. Over their many years of traveling the road of married life together, Julian and Virginia had four children. After Virginia passed away in 1996, he went on to meet his current wife, Ruth, and they have been married for over 10 years. Julian retired from the Sacramento Army Depot, where he was the managing supervisor of the Communication Bunker Repair Section., and was President of the Union during his time at SAD. Julian was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church, most recently at St. Mel, in Fair Oaks, CA.

Julian was an active member of his community, receiving numerous awards and acknowledgements including a special merit award from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department for his aid in subduing a suspect in an arrest. Over the years, Julian had many beloved furry family members, his most recent being Little Boy, Tootsie and Rosy. He found comfort, and love in the bosom of his family, happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Julian was an approachable, loving man who readily would help anyone in his family or anyone in his inner circle. He was a firm believer of helping his fellow man and taught empathy, patience and love.

He is survived by his wife Ruth, his children Maria Duke, Julian A Salazar and Sharon Wippern. Julian leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held for Julian on Friday, November 3, 2023 ay 9:00 am. At Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
