She was born on June 26, 1940, in Santa Rosa, California, and grew up in a loving family. June met her husband, Don Edward Wood, while in high school. They began dating as teenagers and both attended Simpson Bible College in San Francisco, where June earned an associate’s degree in administration. On her 19th birthday, June married Don, beginning a marriage that would span more than six decades.
June’s life was marked by devotion—to her family, her faith, and her work. She embraced many roles over the years: a dedicated wife and mother, a childcare provider, an active participant in church ministries with Don, who pastored for many years. She was a skilled secretary and later served with distinction as an executive administrative assistant in the California State Legislature, the Governor’s Office, and the Treasury Department.
June and Don were faithful members of several congregations, including Destiny Church in Rocklin, Bridgeway Christian Church in Roseville, and Pleasant Grove Community Church in Roseville.
She is survived by her six brothers—Clinton, Ivan, Earl, David, Neil, and Robert Koch—her two sons and their wives, Larry (LeAnn) and Gary (Jerri) Wood, nine grandchildren and their spouses—Wesley (Amanda) Wood, Whitney (Brian) Fraiz, Lauren (Isaiah) Liston, Kyle (Brittney) Wood, Rachel (Isaiah) Vazquez, Caleb Wood, Tyler (Ashley) Wood, Alicia (Cameron) Starrett, Kayla (Erik) Hanson —and fourteen great-grandchildren, with another blessing on the way.
June touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and hospitality. She had a servant’s heart, a love for travel, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She was respected, adored, and deeply loved by all who knew her. Truly one of a kind, she leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and service.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628.
