

Kenzada Georgene "Gene" Stringer was born to William and Elda (Whitaker) Burmeister on April 6, 1920 in Nebraska and raised in Chickasha, OK. She passed away October 3, 2011 in Sacramento, CA after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Gene married Lloyd "Shorty" Stringer on January 10, 1943. In 1946, they moved to Sacramento. She enjoyed helping others and was involved in various community projects in the Northgate/Gardenland area, including the Well Baby Clinic and the P.T.A. Gene was a longtime member and volunteered at the 1St Southern Baptist Church of Northgate. Gene and Shorty enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling in their motorhome to visit relatives and Sunday family dinners.
She was preceeded in death by her husband and son-in-law, Charles McCranie. She will be missed by daughters Trina McCranie of Sacramento, Martha Morgan and husband Patrick of Cameron Park CA; grandchildren, Tracy, Kirstie, Andrew, Jennifer; great granddaughter, Ashlyn; brother Jack Burmeister of Oklahoma City; sister Eileen Hoover of Stringtown, OK, and Melita Ann Hooper of Chickasha, OK and sister-in-law Lavern Joliff of Geary, OK.
Funeral Services were held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 12 PM with the Visitation at 11 AM, at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks CA.
