Kuniko Scott was born on the fifth of November, 1943 to her father, Manshin Kamiyama and her mother Komodo (Furugen) Kamiyama, in the village of Ada, Okinawa, the youngest of 6 children. She spent her youth growing up and attending elementary school in this idyllic seaside village, surrounded by her loving extended family. Her family moved to Naha, Okinawa where she attended middle and high school after which she received training as a seamstress.
In 1968 she met her future husband, Bruce Scott, a US Navy Sailor. They married in August 1969 and relocated to his new duty station in San Diego. She followed Bruce through his Navy Career to multiple duty stations for the next 20 years during which time she bore 2 sons, Brian and Steve. She also worked multiple jobs as an Electronic Component Assembler, changing companies as Bruce changed stations.
After Bruce retired from the Navy in 1986 they relocated to Sacramento where they have lived since.
In 1998 the greatest joy of her life was born, her first of 4 Grandchildren. She retired from work to be a full time grandma and provide daycare for her new babies. Lovingly known as Baba, she is survived by her grandchildren Jessica, Jacob, Grace, and Emory, as well as her husband Bruce and 2 sons, Brian and Steve, and Brian's wife Jenne and grandkids Laurel and Bryce.
The family will be holding a Memorial Gathering at home on Feb. 11th from 12 to 4.
A Graveside Service will be scheduled in early March.
