

Leona was born October 15, 1923 in William Penn, Texas to Henretta and Martin Klussmann. She was the fourth of nine children. She is survived by four sisters; Emmy, Ollie, Evelyn, and Joyce. Leona was married to James H. Cox for 40 years, who preceded her in death. They had two beautiful children together, Nancy Eoff and James Cox. Nancy and James gave Leona three grandchildren; Karen, David, and Elaine. To which they gave her six great grandchildren; Alyssa, Hayley, Alec, Adam, Chloe, and Ranger.
Leona was a devoted church-goer, getting heavily involved in every activity in Zion Lutheran Church in North Highlands. She extended her faith beyond the church and taught her love for Jesus to her children and grandchildren. Leona loved to dance with her husband James and her siblings. Leona also enjoyed bowling with her many friends on a bowling league. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes. Often times, you could find Leona entertaining neighbors in her garage with music and food.
Leona was a loving wife and mother. She cared deeply for every person in her large family. She had a way of turning friends into family and making everyone feel loved. Leona was fortunate enough to live a long 93 years in which she experienced many adventures life offered her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and they are comforted with knowing that she is home with her husband, siblings and friends.
