Marcelle Greene born on August 21, 1921 in Nice, France passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Feb 2, 2013 in Gold River, CA. Preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Jack W. Greene; her parents, brothers and sister. Survived by her sons Louis & Michael Greene, daughters Nancy Muller Lifshin, and Patricia Smith; Grandchildren Andy & Tim Greene, Laurie Muller, Stephen & Philip Torres-Greene, Jennifer Smith, Jason Lifshin, and great grandchildren Kartika Greene, and Sage Coulter. As well as many nieces, nephews, many friends and extended family. Marcelle had a love of learning, teaching and giving to others. She was a dedicated volunteer to many causes. She would like to be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was loved by all who knew her. Marcelle was blessed to be a part of the Eskaton Gold River community where she made many friends and was well cared for, thanks to her husband Jack. She was also a basketball player in France and loved to share that sport with her grand children, along with bowling that she also introduced them to. She was their biggest fan and cheered them on at any sport or life pursuits. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wed, Feb 6 from 4-8pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane in Fair Oaks, with a memorial service to follow on Thurs, Feb 7 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzhiemers Association, Eskaton Foundation for memory care in Gold River, Vitas community connection, or meals a la car.
