

Marie Lavon Hansen was born Aug. 19, 1944 in McPherson, Kansas to Margie and M.D. Hansen. Their wheat farm was 10 miles northwest of McPherson. The original owners were her grandparents Lena and Chris Hansen and it was bought by their youngest son MD Hansen. Marie went to a two room school, first grade through eighth grade and then went on to McPherson High School. She graduated in the top one third of her class and went on to Brown Mackie School of Business. Later, she graduated from American River College and went to her junior year at Sac State majoring in Human Services.
She met and married Ed Keller and moved to Alaska, where her first daughter Marie (Mimi) Nannettee was born. They moved to Lovelock, NV where both sons James Jeffrey and Robert Steven were born.
After a divorce, Marie went to work for San Juan Unified School and worked with children with children or preschool age through High School age. She worked there for twenty years and in 1994 she went to work for the State of California where she worked 11 years for Board of Registered Nursing. In 2005, she retired from the State.
Marie loved to camp, playing sports, including full gear tackle football. She loved her garden and anyone that knew, her she loved her lemon tree and making homemade lemonade for everyone. She collected
Santa’s and was happy to show off her Santa room. Her special passion was scrapbooking and card making that was her happy place. Marie loved to laugh and a wicked sense of humor. She spent many days doing for other people and making then laugh hysterically.
Her children were her pride and joy! When they all gave her the wonderful gift of grandchildren, she couldn’t have been happier. They brought such happiness to her life and she loved spending time with them and making memories. She was thrilled when her grandchildren had children on their own,

Johnathan, Destiny, Kaydee, Cody, Caleb, Kameron, Derek and Brandon). Her precious great-grandchildren (Serianna, Aibhlinn, Benjamin, Evelyn, Asher, Brooklyn, Mark, Lilliani, Kyson, Chloe, and Allison), the many “adopted” family members and all of her sweet friends.
