Lynn was born to John and Violet Pearce in St Louis, Missouri on February 1, 1944, and passed away September 23, 2023, in Folsom, California after a long struggle with cancer. She leaves her husband, Gene, daughter, Tammy, sons, Mike (wife-Grace) and Jon (wife-Alisa), grandchildren Jamie (husband-Zach), Daniel (wife-Heather), Londyn, Ethan, and Jessi, and two great granddaughters, Chloe, and Rory Lynn. She had one brother, Jack, two sisters, Diane and Gail, and several nieces and nephews.
Lynn met Gene, her husband of 61 years, in sophomore English class, and they started dating that summer. They graduated high school and got married the same week. For 61 years, their life was defined by joy, fun, excitement, service, and encouragement. Acceptance and grace toward everyone was her signature. Honestly, Lynn was loved by everyone she met.
When Gene started his painting business in 1967, Lynn immediately became bookkeeper. As the business grew Lynn became more involved, payroll, union contributions, taxes, suppliers, Lynn was right there. On the day after Jon was born, Lynn did payroll for 28 painters from her hospital bed. In 1970, the team added building houses to their business, another layer to the bookkeeping. The Edwards team built houses and subdivisions throughout the Sacramento/Roseville area for over 50 years.
Lynn volunteered her bookkeeping skills to other builders and many organizations. She volunteered to keep the books at her church, Youth for Christ, and other religious organizations for many years.
Lynn’s greatest joy was her family. She loved doing things with her kids and grands. She was the best storyteller: Each character had a different voice and accent. It was crazy fun. Campfire Girls, roller skating, snow and water skiing, bowling, Little League, etc., Lynn was right there in the middle of the activity. A favorite memory of her kids and grandkids was hall soccer, two teams kicking a plush soccer ball up and down the hallway. Not many moms allow that, but Lynn was always on one of the teams.
Lynn boldly claimed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and taught her kids and grandkids to follow Him.
A Celebration of her life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 21 at Redeemer Covenant Church, 6800 Main Avenue, Orangevale, CA. A reception will follow.
