Mary Agnes Wise (Tiffreau)

May 15, 1925 - June 20, 2013

Mary A. Wise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She died at the age of 88 in Citrus Heights, CA on June 20, 2013. She was born in Roseville, CA to Medric Leopold Tiffreau originally of France and Pauline Mary (Fruge) Tiffreau originally of Louisiana. She was also the beloved step-daughter of Jacob Harry Willis originally of Virginia.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arthur Hill Wise, son of John Daniel Munroe Henry "Bud" Wise and Nora Uvivian (Davis) Wise of Alabama. Also preceded in death by her brothers Edward Mederic Tiffreau and Theodore Lorent Tiffreau.

She is survived by half-sister Emma Louise (Willis) Kirkman of Corning, CA, son Paul Arthur Wise & wife Marsha Lee (McAlexander) Wise of Carmichael, CA, and daughter Robin Marie (Wise) Hofmann & husband William Hofmann of Fair Oaks, CA.

Also survived by granddaughter Kimberly Marie (Wise) Barker & husband Barry Kent Barker and great-granddaughter Brittany Marie Barker of Bristow, Virginia; grandson Zachary Hofmann & his partner Kathie Johnston and great-grandson Avery Hofmann of Citrus Heights, CA; and granddaughter Holly Hofmann & her partner Shaun Lange and great-granddaughter Melody Marie Hofmann-Lange of Fair Oaks, CA..

Mary and Art spent 56 wonderful years together, creating a strong, loving foundation for their family. They enjoyed camping with their family and friends and were actively involved in the Order of the Eastern Star Heber Chapter #181. Mary was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

Mary worked in the bookkeeping field for the City of Folsom, CA and the State of California, as well as in the private sector. She was also an avid quilter, making beautiful quilts for her loving family.

A memorial will be held on July 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children of Sacramento.
