Nickolas Achilles Siokos was born in Los Angeles on September 30, 1925, to Greek immigrants Diamond and Achilles Siokos. He is survived by his wife, Angela Siokos, his daughters Andrea (Tim Spaeth), Cynthia Siokos, Markella (Michael Magliola) and Eliana (Chris Reinsvold). He enjoyed his eight grandchildren: Mike, Adrianne (Chris), Nickolas (Hannah), Jillian (Zachary), Conrad, Natalie (Trent), Angelo (Sophia), and Chloe (Brandon) and his seven great grandchildren Evelyn, Robby, Jackson, Asher, the twins Levi and Jane, Tommy, as well as joyfully anticipated two on the way. Family was everything to Nick. He held dear to his heart all their gatherings. But mostly dear to his heart was his wife Angela and their relationship was like no other. Nick married Angela in 1955 and they celebrated 67 years of a beautiful life together. He was an inspiration to all of us. He was truly a man for others. Nick was a graduate of Washington High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from USC. He went on to get a Masters degree in Education also from USC. He was close to getting his Doctorate, completing his course work; however, four daughters in five years took precedence. After marriage Nick and Angela started their life together in Lynwood, CA. He was a teacher, then Elementary School Principal in the Lynwood Unified School District. Nick had a great love for public service and was an elected City Councilman and Mayor for ten years. He was also appointed to the California League of Cities. In 1971 Nick moved the family to Yorba Linda and served as an Elementary School Principal and later as Superintendent of Schools in the Placentia Unified School District. Nick was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian. He served on the original Building Committee for St Sophia Cathedral, Los Angeles. He was also a very involved volunteer at St John the Baptist, Anaheim, after they moved to Yorba Linda. When they moved to Roseville, CA, he continued to support St Anna Greek Orthodox Church. As an ardent golfer, Nick loved his Greek Sportsmen golf adventures as well as his sunrise Saturday starts with his local posse where they would always be the first one out, and hit Jack in the Box on the way home. His family fondly remembers wonderful vacations together. He is also lovingly remembered for the many times he piled all seven kids into the baby blue Volkswagen Beetle to go to church. (Seat belts were non-existent back then.) His daughters recall one of the greatest joys of their early years was skipping to church and all holding hands with their dear daddy in the middle.
Nick’s whole life can be summed up by this: "True wealth is not measured in money or status or power. It is measured in the legacy we leave behind for those we love and those we inspire.”
