Born on Aug. 1, 1915 in Walla Walla, Washington to Carmen and Bailey Maxwell. She passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2011 at her home in Shingle Springs.
Norma was raised on a sheep ranch in Imnaha, Oregon and began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse. She met and married Don Gray, who passed away in 1971. She was a fantastic and devoted mother and grandmother; her family was her pride and joy.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter Elaine Gray-Benvenuti, and her brothers Bill and Marvin.
She is survived by her children Richard (Linda), Steven (Vicki), Robert (Terri); her brother Bud; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 at Mount Vernon Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Ln. Fair Oaks, CA 95628. Services will be 12pm Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 also at Mount Vernon.
