

Peter was born and raised in Sacramento, California. He was active in Boy Scouts, earned his eagle scout and was an assistant scoutmaster. He played varsity football for Rio Americano High School. He met his wife his senior year of high school and they both graduated from Rio Americano in June of 1970. He got a job as a roofer upon graduation. In 1971, he was accepted in the apprenticeship program at Sacramento City College as an apprentice plasterer. On August 7, 1971 he married his high school sweetheart Linell (Lin) Ford. He spent 32 years in the plasterer's union with over 20 years as a foreman plasterer with Novi Plastering. On September 2, 2002, Pete had a stroke and went out on disability. He then started his second career as "Grandpa daycare."
He is preceded in death by his parents, William George Engberg and Jacqueline Engberg (Miller). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linell (Lin) Engberg of nearly 50 years, daughter Charline and husband Matt, son Peter and wife Lynne, grandson Blaine and wife Haley, sister Peggy and husband Mark, granddaughter Isabella and husband Tim, grandson Max, granddaughter Courtney as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Peter is also survived by his beloved Japanese Chin, Mia.
Pete will be forever loved and cherished by all who knew him.
