Princess Imogene Fitzpatrick

Princess Imogene (Jean) Fitzpatrick, 93, went home to Jesus on May 25, 2019. Jean was born on November 11, 1925 in Corning, CA to the late Homer and Ruth Miller. It was in Corning she met her would-be husband, Patrick Andrew Fitzpatrick (December 1920-December 2011). They were married 67 years. A beloved wife, she often referred to her husband as “my Patrick” whom she dearly loved. During the early years of her married life, Jean was a full-time, stay-at-home mother. She was the heartbeat of the family during her husband’s Naval career, as he was assigned to various locations throughout the United States and abroad. Finally, when settled in California, she began and excelled in her sales career in the Silver-Crystal & China department of Breuners Home Furnishings in Oakland, CA; she retired from the Sacramento location by the mid 1990’s.

Jean spent her early retirement years with her Patrick. She enjoyed painting, playing her piano, writing, gardening and entertaining friends and family. Her later retirement years were invested in the growing of her faith in God by regularly reading her bible, praying and participating in a Women’s Bible Study. She placed special value on worshipping God among other believers at Centerpoint Community Church, where she was a long standing member.

Jean had a deep desire for staying connected to family, both near and afar, and to friends, ranging from childhood friends to old school chums, former neighbors, faithful friendships at church, and distant friends, whom she met during her married years. She took much pleasure visiting over-the-phone with others. She loved sending out cards and writing letters to the special people in her life. She received visitors with delighted anticipation!

Jean is survived by her children: Rick (son) and Carole Fitzpatrick of Baldwin, Michigan, Janis (daughter) and Tom O’Brion of Lodi, CA, Barbara (daughter) and Bruce Gibson of Orangevale, CA. Before her passing, she was mindful to recall the names of her grandchildren, whom she continually prayed for: Shelly Losoya of Folsom, CA, Jess Fitzpatrick of Citrus Heights, CA, Brenda Larson of Reno, NV, Jodi Brien of Baldwin, MI, Steven Brien of Baldwin, MI, Chad O’Brion of Madera, CA, Lisa Richardson of Linden, CA, Ashleigh Belding of West Sacramento, CA, Bret Gibson of Orangevale, CA. Additionally, Jean was blessed with 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service is planned for Thursday, June 20, 2019 , 1pm, at Centerpoint Community Church, 515 Sunrise Avenue, Roseville, CA.
