Ramiro Antonio Arosemena was given to the Lord on June 1, 2024. He resided in Lincoln, CA. He was born in Panama City, Panama to Emilio and Rosa Otero Arosemena. He is preceded by his beloved wife Olga, cherished daughter Gina, mother Rosa, brother Rodrigo and sister Choly.
Ramiro was a US Army Veteran. He graduated from the Escuela Normal Juan Demóstenes Arosemena with teaching credentials, later earning degrees in Business and Fine Arts from San Mateo College, San Francisco State and UC Berkeley.
Ramiro dedicated over 50 years to public service and civic organizations. He served multiple terms as Foreman of the Contra Costa Grand Jury. Fire Commissioner of the Contra Costa Fire Protection District, the Chairman of the Local Selective Service Board, and Contra Costa County Election Citizens Advisory Board. He also chaired the Civic Arts Commission, in Antioch, CA. He contributed to numerous other committees and boards, including the Contra Costa Housing & Community Development Advisory Committee, the Contra Costa Newcomer Task Force and the Crime Prevention board. His dedication extended to Kiwanis of the Delta, the Lt. Governor, Division 26, Kiwanis International, the Knights of Columbus, President and Board of Director of Lake Alhambra Property Owners Association, the Delta Art Association and the Northern California Family Center for Runaway Youth. He served as a life member and Treasurer of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He fiercely protected and enhanced the interests of his community and state.
Ramiro was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He is survived by his daughters Iraida Mathews and husband Brian, Karin Blazona and Jonathan Heim, Olga Hansen and husband Curtis. He leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Lauren and husband Logan, Joseph and wife Stephanie, Allison, John Tyler, Cole and Miles. Ramiro also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ramiro will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His service will be held June 21st at 1:00pm, at Mount Vernon Memorial Park, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA 95628, with a Celebration of Life to follow.
