Carmen Rios was maid of honor & Eddie Steele was Ramón's best man at wedding in 1966.

He survived Acute Leukemia in February 2006. This past July & August, he survived pneumonia, and being in a coma for 10 days. He survived throat surgery and months of physical rehabilitation. He recently had breathing issues, so he had additional throat surgery.

He & his wife traveled to Florence, Italy; Paris, France; Spain, beaches in Mexico & Hawaii; Panama Canal, New York, Chicago, Sedona & Lake Tahoe/Reno.
