

Born in Sacramento on September 1, 1934, Ray was the son of the late Juan Delgado and Petra Lopez. Ray was a graduate of Sacramento High School and an Army and National Guard veteran. He worked as a union construction laborer for 25 years. After retiring from construction, Ray worked two stints at the UC Davis Medical Center for approximately twenty years. Ray enjoyed playing golf and watching sports, but a favorite activity was making things for others, whether furniture, crafts, or tamales. Ray loved visiting with family and friends and was known for his playful sense of humor. He was a proud and honorable man who will be deeply missed. Ray was preceded in death by his sisters Mary (Walker) Barton, Angelina (Bruno) Tamantini, Sofia Delgado, Sofia Meza, his brothers Antonio (Charlotte), John (Carolyn), and Rudy Delgado, beloved wife Patricia (Cattin) and loving partner Mary Ann (Jones). He is survived by his wife Nancy, sons Kevin (Heidi Feldman) and Chris (Rose) Delgado, who he shared with former spouse Elizabeth Harlow. Ray is also survived by grandchildren Delilah and Raphael Delgado, numerous stepchildren and grand-stepchildren, sister Mary Cruz (Arnold) Moya, brother Augie Meza, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and former spouse Jean (Rounds).
Ray was cremated per his wishes. A celebration of life will take place on Thursday, June 30, at 10am, followed by interment, and then a reception at 11am. All events will be held at Mount Vernon Memorial Park & Mortuary at 8201 Greenback Ln., Fair Oaks, CA 95628 (916-969-1251).
